Two seasons on the Fun Coast
Daytona Beach has a warmer, wetter season from late May through October and a cooler, drier one from November through April. January is the only month with an average high below 70 °F. The AC runs hard for half the year and still works on plenty of warm winter days, so a spring tune-up before the wet season pays off; see AC maintenance.
Afternoon storms and humidity
In summer, the Bermuda High pushes hot, unstable tropical air over the coast, bringing brief thunderstorms most afternoons, and June through September deliver most of the city's 51 inches of rain. Humid air means a lot of water off the indoor coil, and lightning means surge risk; see drain lines and leaks.

Common questions
Why is my AC running but the house stays warm?
A dirty filter or coil, low refrigerant, leaky ducts or an undersized system are common causes. On the hottest afternoons an older unit may simply fall behind.
How long does an AC replacement take?
A house swap is often done in a day. Condos and duct changes can take longer.
Why does my heat pump blow cool air in winter?
Heat pump air feels milder than furnace air. If the house won't warm up, book a check.
Who is responsible for my condo AC?
Usually the owner, but check your association's documents.
Can a mini-split cool a sunroom?
Yes, if it's sized for the glass and sun exposure.
